Come celebrate artisanship at Bonde on Black Friday! Artisan Ikram Schelhot will be in the shop from 5-8p with a collection of his exclusive and unique gorgeous one-of-a-kind hand-painted, hand-sewn & hand-fringed silks, scarves and shawls. You can meet the artist and ask him questions about his craft.
Born in Cairo (Egypt), Ikram Schelhot later moved to Paris (France) for several years where he created his first painted silk works. In the late 1970s, he settled in Montreal (Quebec-Canada), where he still resides. An extraordinarily talented graphic designer, he dedicated his career in exclusivity to lux editing graphics. In 2020 after a long productive career, Ikram Schelhot returned to his first passion and plunged back with intensity into the creation of unique pieces that reflect the craftsmanship of French Haute Couture. You can see Ikram’s collection on his website.
Bonde Fine Wine is hosting Ikram Schelhot on Black Friday to share with our close community that we can take a stand against the rabid consumerism of disposable goods that Black Friday has come to symbolize. At Bonde, we curate neo-artisan accessories, which are items that are handmade and bring art to utility, and are meant to last a lifetime—the opposite of participating in the bargain hunting race to the bottom that normally takes place on Black Friday.
