ABOUT THE PRODUCERS:
“J.C. Somers is the collaboration between Jay Christopher Somers and his longtime partner and wife Ronda Newell-Somers. The label displays the New Moon which signifies a new phase in their winemaking adventures. After founding and developing the J. Christopher brand in 1996 they are returning to their roots producing small quantities of focused, elegant and terroir driven wines made from the best sites in the Willamette Valley”*
ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
The Garnier Vineyard is located in the Columbia Gorge AVA on the Oregon side near the town of Mosier. It overlooks the scenic Columbia River. The vineyard’s proximity to the Columbia River and low elevation provide valuable added heat units during the growing season and frost protection during winter. Gorge winds provide excellent ventilation. From Jay Somers: "I have been working with Tom Garnier and this super interesting vineyard site in the Columbia Gorge AVA near the town of Mosier since the early 2000's. If you ever had my Rosé wines form my previous winery you know this vineyard well."
