ABOUT THE VINTAGE:
2018 was a challenging growing season that required a diligent vineyard management approach. To promote airflow through the canopy, we were proactive with hand leaf removal and our sustainable spray program. Aug-Oct saw double the average rainfall during the period. Despite this, heat spikes in August helped push the fruit for sparkling wine, still white and rosé to clean maturity. The grapes for our red wines were picked at approximately two years.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Lieb Cellars is operated by a team of young, forward-thinking, individuals from diverse backgrounds who are affectionately referred to as #TeamLieb. They are united in a single mission: to produce wine that they love to drink and are proud to pour. Known for their signature dry, clean, and fruit-forward style, Lieb Cellars offers a portfolio of estate-grown, sustainably farmed still and sparkling wines.
Lieb owns the largest contiguous plot of Pinot Blanc in the United States. With the guiding hand of veteran winemaker Russell Hearn, the 35-year-old vines have produced nationally recognized and award-winning wines. Other standouts include their Sparkling Rosé, lightly oaked Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
