This Chardonnay is perfect for any fan of  Burgundy. With no new oak and a few initial hours of skin contact, primary notes come forth of bright, tart fruit, zesty acididty, volcanic minerality, and a lush & round texture.

GRAPES:  Chardonnay

SOIL: Volcanic, elevation: 800 ft.

PRACTICE: Organic/regenerative farming, practicing biodynamic

VINIFICATION: Skin contact maceration (a few hours) before fermentation in neutral used oak barrels and stainless steel tanks (3 months), unfined, unfiltered, minimal added So2; native yeast.

STYLE: Still

COLOR: Pale greenish yellow, young gold feflection

BODY: Light to Medium (3-4)

TASTE: Dry

PRIMARY AROMAS: Yellow apple, citrus

FLAVOR: Lush, round texture; bright, tart fruit (kiwi, white peach, lemon curd); zesty acidity, mineral finish.

FORMAT: 750 ml

ALCOHOL: 13.5%

SERVICE AND SUGGESTION: 
With this un-oaked and very linear and crisp Chardonnay, food pairings may include scallop ceviche, sashimi, poached sole filet with grapefruit sauce, oysters, roasted chicken, lighter seafood, veal, foie gras, or goat cheese.

 

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: 
Julia Bailey Gulstine:
“Winemaker and owner Julia Bailey named her label Loop de Loop because
it mirrored her own trajectory as a winemaker. Time spent working in
restaurants in Portland led to an interest in wine, and she headed to
Europe to explore wine regions in France and Italy. Back in Oregon,
she went to work at wineries, landing at Argyle before becoming the
first employee hired at Patricia Green, a famous biodynamic Oregon
producer. After gaining more experience from travel, working as a wine
buyer and becoming certified as a sommelier, she started her own label
in 2012.”*

 

ABOUT THE VINEYARDS: 
“All wines are fermented with wild yeasts and made with minimal intervention. The vineyards we work are dry farmed and managed organically, bio-dynamically or at the very least, farmed sustainably. Our own vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA farmed organically with regenerative viticulture at the core of our work. We put all our hearts into these wines and they are made to be enjoyed with food, conversation and loved ones. Thanks for being a part of what we’re creating.”*
