ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
The Stephen Ross story begins with the "Stephen Ross Dooley wine story" in Minnesota, wherein my teenage. Stephen evolved into a passion for winemaking, which led to a degree in Enology from The University of California, Davis; then 10 years of winemaking (all vinifera from here on out, thankfully) in the Napa Valley, two southern hemisphere harvests, and seven years in the Edna Valley before he launched his own brand, Stephen Ross.  Paula (Stephen's Wife) joined the team soon after.  Stephen Ross was founded on the principles of working with quality vineyards and hand-crafting the best wines possible from the grapes they yield. The winery started small, grew as financial resources allowed, and until today stuck to their principles in winemaking and business – great, small production wines, solid business practices, and a nice, engaging place to work for our crew.

ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
The Edna Valley is located on the South-Central Coast of California next to the town of San Luis Obispo. The valley spans in a northeast-southwest orientation and is open at the Pacific Ocean to the West; it lies in Southern California at 34 degrees latitude and receives an abundance of light from a “directly overhead” sun. The climate is strongly influenced by regular summer-time afternoon cool breezes coming from the Pacific Ocean. This is a unique climate of cool air temperature and intense sunlight.
