We are excited to announce our very special winemaker event with California wine legend Randall Grahm.

The original “Rhône Ranger”, Randall pioneered the American Rhône movement in the 1980s with critically-acclaimed Bonny Doon Vineyards, and brought the biodynamic movement to the wine industry in California. After growing to a nearly larger-than-life character in the world of California wine, Randall is now focusing his efforts on the future of ecological responsibility. In 2011, he bought a 280-acre estate named Popelouchum in San Juan Bautista where he is on the cutting edge of employing regenerative agriculture as a means to combat climate change and develop climatically resilient vineyards. In his quest to create the great American grapes, it is there that he experiments with new drought-resistant varieties to produce complex wines that express and amplify their terroir. He also produces wine under the label The Language of Yes, which is his continued exploration of the central California Coast through small-batch vinous experiments, light touches and a deep love of the land. He was named Wine and Spirits Professional of the Year by the James Beard Foundation (1994) and inducted into the Culinary Institute of America’s Vintner's Hall of Fame (2010).

This event is limited to ten participants, so it will be a cozy and intimate two-hour conversation with Randall about his journey in wine and his perspective on where we are going. We will pour a sampling of Randall’s wines, and the food for this evening will be prepared by Chef Jason Bond of Cambridge’s dearly departed Bondir.
